Award-winning actress Lovi Poe is returning to the big-screen via “Guilty Pleasure,” a collaborative effort between Regal Entertainment and her own C’est Lovi Productions.
Set to premiere October 16 in cinemas, “Guilty Pleasure” delves into the complexities of love, betrayal, and ambition.
Written by Noreen Capili and directed by Connie Macatuno, it also stars JM De Guzman and Jameson Blake.
JM portrays Adam Lucero, former lover of Lovi’s Alexis.
Jameson is Matthew Caliente, a young lawyer Alexis once mentored.
Rounding out the cast are Sarah Edwards, Dustin Yu, and Angelica Lao, each adding depth to the film’s emotional intensity.
The dynamic chemistry and charged tension between their characters promise to keep audiences on the edge of their seats as their intertwined pasts collide, weaving a tale posed to shock, titillate viewers.
Roselle Monteverde, President and CEO of Regal Entertainment, highlighted the film’s core message.
“It’s about how dreams, both personal and professional, can be crushed by someone you once held dear,” she explained. “The film subtly addresses the lasting impact of such betrayals and the inner strength required to reclaim your sense of self.”
Keith Monteverde, Executive Vice President of Regal Entertainment, emphasized the film’s theme of empowerment.
“The ability to say ‘yes,’ when it’s truly your decision, is as important as saying ‘no.’ Guilty Pleasure explores this balance of consent and agency in a way that opens up meaningful conversations.”
Lovi on her part maintained “Guilty Pleasure” is more than just a movie—it’s an experience that encourages reflection and discussion.
“Tackling themes like trauma, ambition, and personal integrity, the film is designed to spark conversations about the complexities of human relationships. Watching it on the big screen amplifies the emotions and intensity of the story.”
