During a recent forum held at Kamuning Bakery, Imee Marcos and Ping Lacson shared their thoughts on how to enliven the ailing entertainment industry.
Both Imee and Ping expressed admiration relating the South Korean government’s efforts to boost their own entertainment industry, going on to urge local government to do the same.
Imee would go on to share how she has been helping further the local entertainment industry through a variety of initiatives even back in the day.
“I have been a staunch supporter of the entertainment inudstry kahit dati pa. Kailangan natin pagtuunan ng pansin ang sektor na ito dahil sayang naman ang galing ng mga Filipino artist natin,” she said.
“Dati-rati’y tayo ang nangunguna sa Southeast Asia in terms of films, pero napag-iwanan na nga tayo ng mga karatig bansa natin.”
Ping on his part related, “I think hindi naman talaga tayo pahuhuli pagdating sa talent. I believe with government support e, makakahabol tayo.”
The forum coincided with the celebration of World Pandesal Day, something that Kamuning Bakery owner Wilson Lee Flores thought of.
“Pandesal is part of our heritage and culture, dapat natin ipagmalaki ito,” he said.
To celebrate, Kamuning Bakery gave away 100,000 free pandesal among other food items to urban poor families.
Only recently, Kamuning Bakery also donated a public school building to Sinait Integrated School in Tarlac.
