Rising gymnastic stars Eldrew and Elaiza Yulo will get the chance to learn from the very coach that helped older brother Carlos mold to become a global star.
The sibling are now in Japan to train under coach Munehiro Kugimiya.
Angelica Yulo, the matriarch of the family, confirmed the latest development in the Messenger, saying the Yulos arrived on the land of the Rising Sun last Oct. 17, to take part in Munehiro’s training class where they can further sharpen and develop their skills.
The camp was spearheaded by Munehiro with the help of Japanese sponsors.
Munehiro was a long-time mentor of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos since they met each other way back in 2013 until they parted ways last year.
Currently, the Japanese coach has been consistently imparting his knowledge including his partnership with the gymnastic body of Thailand.
Like Carlos, Eldrew and Elaiza are making waves at their very young age, snaring multiple golden honors in the country’s most notable grassroots tournament –the Palarong Pambansa.
Aside from their achievements on local soil, the duo also turned heads in other international competitions and are now eyeing for a spot in the national team who will compete in Southeast Asian Games next year.
They are aiming as well to join their older brother Carlos in the 2028 LA Games and turned the global centerpiece into a family affair.
