The University of Perpetual Help Junior Altas are on a roll.
The Junior Altas showed their readiness to regain their lost glory in the NCAA by beating the Mapua Red Robins, 86-59, in the finals of the Under Armor Curry 12 Invitational Championship on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024 at the Gameville Ball Park Court 2 in Mandaluyong City.
The title win was a follow to the team’s impressive win in the inaugural NGBL just a week ago that saw them beat the NU Nazareth Bullpups, 96-93.
Lebron Jhames Daep starred anew for the Joph Cleopas-mentored Junior Altas with a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds to capture the Finals MVP award.
Jericho Cristino also shone for the team managed by Anton Tamayo with 10 points, 4 boards, 3 steals and an assist while Felix Corpuz registered 11 points after burying 3 triples.
Yuri Duque paced the Red Robins with 10 points , 4 boards and 3 steals.
Meantime, the San Sebastian Staglets outlasted the FEU Baby Tamaraws, 79-73, in the battle for third place.
In advancing to the winner-take-all finals, the Junior Altas beat the Baby Tamaraws, 87-51.
