University of Perpetual Help is bringing back coach in Adrian Bequillo to lead the Altas in the coming National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 100 football tournament.
The Las Piñas-based school formally named Bequillo, currently a AFC-B licensed coach brimming with international coaching experience in Japan and Vietnam, as head coach.
It’s some sort of full circle moment for Bequillo who led the University of Perpetual Help System Jonelta -Biñan Football Team and won Women’s and Boy’s Futsal Title at NCAA South in 2018.
Benquillo, who played for the Altas in 2011 and 2012 under coach Miguel Cajes, said that he wants to have a good fight in the NCAA as the Altas Booters make their return after almost 6 years on leave.
“Our preparation, since my players are coming from different cultures, we are in the process of making adjustments for the system that I want for the team,” said Bequillo.
“Right now our players are from the grassroots program, going through tryouts to form a competitive team this NCAA season. What I can promise to the Perpetual community is that we will give our rivals a good fight. We are not only preparing for this season, of course, but also for the future,” Bequillo added.
Right now, through the support of Perpetual Altas FC and Perpetual Altas High School Alumni (PAHA), the team is inviting other football teams and clubs for friendly matches at the Molino Field to try and improve their skills.
Perpetual Altas football team last won the NCAA championship in 1990 under coach Rey Salong while the second championship came in 1998 under coach Miguel Cajes.
