Supporting her husband’s candidacy is the current focus of actress-vlogger Alex Gonzaga.
This is why she has been refusing showbiz projects.
Alex was present at the Christmas party of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEED) held recently at Rampa Drag Club in Quezon City.
She was there with her politician husband Mikee Morada, currently a councilor of Lipa City, Batangas.
He is running next year for Vice Mayor of the said city.
Told about his wife’s decision to forego her showbiz career to focus on his candidacy Mikee said, “Of course I’m thankful.”
Asked how he juggles his time as husband and politician, Mikee said, “It’s all about proper timekeeping. My wife and I are trying to have a baby. Although I don’t want to lose focus on either, family is our priority.”
Alex admitted that she has changed a lot following their marriage, maintaining she is now “quite behaved.”
Mikee attested to this, saying, “Although Alex will always be Alex, she’s more careful now.”
Alex added in jest: “I’m only naughty with him.”
Turning serious, she related, “I like it when my husband and family tell me how I changed a lot for the better. It inspires me to keep at it. I really feel that I’ve matured a lot.”
She’s open to the possibility of getting into politics herself, but Mikee prefers that she stays in show business.
He wants her to focus where she’s good at.
“Alex has consistently been one of the most followed and subscribed vloggers, and still gaining more subscriptions,” Mikee confided. “And she works hard. Up to now, she edits and sits through her videos all by herself. She makes me quite proud.”
