Fans of actor-singer James Reid should do well to rejoice.
He is set to return to acting.
And not only on TV — he just might also do a movie and soon.
We caught up with James recently and he was quite excited to tell us about his upcoming projects.
He shared, “For the TV project, we are already discussing what kind of story we want to put out. To be sure, it’s something new, something different from previous efforts.”
Not that it is coming out soon.
“We’re still on the casting stage. But I’m already quite excited about it.”
As to the film, he intimated that they’re “still deep in discussion” about it but that “they’re getting there.”
But why the long absence from acting?
“I guess I had to step back, rediscover myself,” he answered.
Apparently, fame got to him.
“It came so quickly and I got lost somehow,” he admitted.
“Fame is quite something else actually. I don’t think anyone would get used to it. It’s not natural. It’s quite difficult to deal with the constant pressure and the constant noise. I needed to kind of escape from all of that.”
James found solace creating music under his own Careless label.
He is happy with what he has achieved so far.
“I’m really a songwriter, like I can’t help it. I need to turn my stories into songs. It’s like taking a snapshot of my life,” he said.
He also likes the freedom it allows him.
“I get to write all the songs, get to create music, get to conceptualize the music videos. It’s quite liberating. I’m very happy where I am now, which is why I’m comfortable going back to doing other things,” Reid said.
He reiterated, “I’m excited. It’s been a long time. I had every intention of coming back to acting. I just feel like now is the right time.”
