Sen. Lito Lapid is not keen on retiring from acting.
The 69-year-old is quite proud that he is still marketable at his age.
Apart from his duties at the Senate, he is busy with “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.”
“So, tuloy tuloy lang tayo. Hangga’t kaya pa natin magtrabaho e, sige lang.”
He is aiming to make a film by next year.
“May gusto akong gawin pero kasi may eleksyon pa so tignan natin,” he intimated.
The Kapampangan is running for re-election and as such he is to exit “FPJ’s Ang Batang Quiapo” soon.
“Nasa batas yan e. Kailangan.
There are talks that he is making sweet music with his co-star in the show, Lorna Tolentino.
But the senator made clear, “Wala.
Mabuti ngaa at tinatanggap pa ako. E, lolo na ako. Senior citizen na.”
At the gathering, veteran scribe Eugene Asis presented Sen. Lito his Lifetime Achievement Award as with the 2024 Most Loved Public Servant/Enduring Filipino Actor of the Year trophy as bestowed by the American Asia International Awards based in Hollywood, California, USA.
Meanwhile, Senate Bill No. (SBN) 2797, as authored by Sen. Lito, was approved on third and final reading Monday, December 9. The bill directs the Department of Tourism to feature and promote Pampanga as the country’s culinary capital in all its regional and national promotion programs.
Pampanga has long been recognized for its exceptional culinary heritage, making it a deserving candidate for the title.
“This bill seeks to formally recognize Pampanga’s unique contribution to the nation’s culinary landscape by declaring it as such,” the senator said.
