Last April, Sen. Bong Revilla was hospitalized after partially tearing his Achilles tendon while shooting action scens for “Birador: Alyas Pogi.”
The film was supposed to be his entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival MMFF.
Due to the accident, production was halted.
In a recent interview, the lawmaker-actor related, “Kailangan kong ipahinga ang paa ko after the surgery and it would take months, hindi na kami aabot sa deadline so, we decided na huwag nang ipilit pa ang pelikula.”
Fans have been longing for his film comeback, something he was so eager to reciprocate.
Though he may not have been able to fulfil their wishes, Sen. Bong made sure he still got to offer them something new and exciting in time for Christmas.
Out on Dec. 22 is season 3 of his action comedy series on GMA, “Walang Matigas Na Pulis Sa Matinik Na Misis.”
He said, “Bale thorugh this show, gusto ko makita nila na kahit paano e tinupad ko ang pangako ko. Hindi man tayo nakabalik sa pelikula, may TV show naman tayo na punumpuno ng aksyon at saya.”
“Aminin ko, usually magkaiba ang approach kapag pelikula compared kapag TV show. Pero dito, we made sure na kahit paano e we could give fans something na exciting and very action packed.”
In the show, Sen. Bong returns as Tolome. This time, he is going to face his toughest battle yet, with enemies both old and new threatening everything he holds dear.
There are new faces included in the show’s rotating cast of characters. These include Leo Martinez as Adonis, Sid Lucero as Jeffrey “Jepoy” Guzman, Jillian Ward as Dra. Barbara Hidalgo, Jon Lucas as Homer, Jay Manalo as Pancho Blanco, Faith Da Silva as Janice Luna, Ryan Eigenmann as Rico, Long Mejia as Lucio “Darak” Cinco, Boss Toyo as himself, Gloria Diaz as Nadia Hilario, Neil Ryan Sese as Teddy, King Gutierrez as Arturo, Roxie Smith as Aira Dela Cruz, and Joko Diaz as Diego.
Returning cast members are Beauty Gonzalez as Gloria, Carmi Martin as Lucing, Jestoni Alarcon as Chief Gener Alberto, Liezel Lopez as Jacqueline “Jacq” Dela Torre, Niño Muhlach as Sylvestre “Style” Salonga, Dennis Padilla as Police Major Vincent Policarpio, Maey Bautista as Candida Magtulis, Raphael Landicho as Kiko Reynaldo, and Jeffrey Tam as Onofre “Bunso” Batumbakal.
“Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis” will air starting December 22, 7:15pm on GMA.
