Former University of the Philippines star Malick Diouf is bringing his vast UAAP championship experiences to Pacific Caesar Surabaya in the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) next year, the team announced recently.
“Malick is Caesar,” the team wrote on its social media post.
Diouf, 25, will be playing in the same tournament where Gilas Pilipinas star Justin Brownlee also played early this year.
The resident Ginebra import suited up for Pelita Jaya.
The 6-foot-11 center is expected to help turn things around for Caesar after the squad finished dead last among
14 teams, winning only three times in the double round elims.
Before he suits up for the Indonesian team, Diouf helped the Zamboanga Valientes reign in The Asian Tournament after beating the Macau Black Bears in the championship round.
It can be remembered that the Senegalese cager played a pivotal role along with JD Cagulangan and Carl Tamayo in helping the Maroons capture the UAAP crown four years ago.
Three years ago, Malick won the UAAP plum but the Maroons lost their title to the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
