“My Future You,” Regal Film’s entry to the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival, just might be the very thing that will launch the tandem of Seth Fedelin and Francine Diaz to the stratosphere.
We are basing this assumption on the frenzy displayed by fans at a recent screening.
The two had the audience at the palm of their hands – responding enthusiastically to everything they say or do.
Of course, we aren’t new to this mania. We’ve actually seen this so many times prior.
But Seth seems to be right on the money when he told us in an earlier interview how he and Francine are more than more than ready for the big league.
He said, “Gutom kami pareho sa trabaho ni Francine. Pakiramdam ko simula pa lamang ito. Malaki ang pasalamat naming sa mga nagtitiwala at sumusuporta sa amin. Dahil sa kanila kaya may ganitong pagkakataon. Kung bibigyan pa kami ng pagkakataon at patuloy kaming susuportahan ng mga naniniwala sa amin e, ipinapangako ko, ibabalik naming ng higit 100% ang pagmamahal at suporta na yun sa paggawa ng mga bagay na ikaliligaya nila.”
Fans eager to see the two acting out the usual cutesy romantic scenes requisite to a love team would enjoy “My Future You” as it offers tons of these.
Beyond that, it actually allows Seth and Francine to stretch out a bit, playing characters older than they are in real life.
In the movie, Seth is Lex, a young man who will touch base with Francine’s Karen through a dating app.
They would later realize that they actually exist on different timelines, with Karen actually living in the present, while Lex is from 2009.
Karen would then ask Lex to help her alter significant events in her past to prevent her parents’ separation.
However, their attempts to rewrite history lead to unforeseen consequences, changing their lives in unexpected ways.
Film writer and director Crisanto B. Aquino shared, “I hope the audience will realize through the film how they should cherish and value the people around them, especially their family. Sometimes, we search so hard for love, not realizing it’s already there.”
“My Future You” is now in cinemas nationwide.
