The last time that Ice Seguerra, Nyoy Volante, Sitti, Duncan Ramos, Princess Velasco, Kean Cipriano, and Juris, collectively known as the Sessionistas, performed together was in 2015.
A lot has changed since then.
Some of them, in fact, are already parents.
But one thing remained intact: The friendship.
Ice attested to this saying, “Maraming nang nangyari sa amin individually pero hindi nabago yung pagkakaibigan namin.”
It was Ice who thought of staging a reunion concert.
“Kasi, to be honest na-miss ko sobra yung tumutugtog kami ng magkakasama,” he explained. “Actually, way back in 2019 pa, kinausap ko na sila about it and everyone agreed naman kaya lang the pandemic happened diba so, it was put on hold.”
It is now to push through finally on Feb. 8 at The Theatre at Solaire.
The concert, titled “Love, Sessionistas: A Pre-Valentine Concert,” as Ice explained, is a love letter to loyal fans who have supported the Sessionistas since their beginnings in “ASAP’s” 2009 “Pwesto” segment.
“Beyond that, it is also a celebration of our friendship,” related Ice.
“Masaya ito sigurado. I’m sure maraming mga fans ang excited na malaman kung ano ma-i-offer naming bago as a group after all these years,” he added.
Nyoy maintained, “And we are going to deliver the best performance we can. Kasi ang maganda sa grupo na ito is that we inspire each other, we complement each other. So, whenever we play together mas napu-push pa yung capabilities naming as performers.”
Duncan voiced out, “Siguro it helps din that we come from different genres of music and we have different personalities, different characters so, when we get together parating something new and exciting occurs.”
Kean mentioned, “Sa Sessionistas kasi iti’s not just about one person. It’s about the music, it’s about the message.”
Juris commented, “And we’re having fun while at it.”
Sitti agreed, sharing, “Kapag magkakasama kami mararamdaman mo talaga ‘yung pag-ibig saka ‘yung suporta sa isa’t isa.”
“And that’s what I like most about this,” Princess remarked. “totoo ang friendship na nabuo namin and it’s something that I believe e, lifelong na.”
