The Capital1 Solar Spikers boosted their lineup with the acquisition of outside hitter Trisha Genesis just in time for the resumption of the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.
The team announced the development on a social media post Friday, Jan. 17, welcoming the 24-year-old to the fold with a picture of the contract signing with team co-owners Milka and Mandy Romero.
“It’s official! Join us in welcoming Trisha Genesis to the Solar Spikers family,” the post read.
Prior to joining the Solar Spikers, she suited up for the Akari Chargers in 2022.
Genesis’ arrival is like whiff of fresh air as the team intends to turn its fortunes around. They are toting a 1-4 record before the league takes a break.
Under Gorayeb’s guidance, Genesis, 24, is likely to blossom into a potent spiker apart from giving the team depth.
“We will have now another offensive option,” said Gorayeb.
Genesis will have her baptism of fire when the Solar Spikers battle the Creamline Spikers on Tuesday.
The 5-foot-7 Genesis played for the Adamson Lady Falcons that saw them win the 2019 PVL Collegiate Conference.
In that title win, Genesis won the Conference Most Valuable Player and First Best Outside Hitter.
