The National Police Commission (Napolcom) reported that 10,426 aspiring cops successfully passed the Philippine National Police Entrance Examination (PNPEE), representing 28.65% of the 36,386 examinees.
This exam is the initial requirement for applicants seeking to join the police force.
Additionally, 2,807 active policemen passed the promotional exam for ranks ranging from Police Corporal to Police Lieutenant Colonel, yielding a passing rate of 34.87% from 8,050 examinees.
Candidates who pass the PNPEE are eligible to apply for roles as Patrolman or Patrolwoman, contingent upon meeting the qualifications under Republic Act No. 8551.
The 2,807 officers who passed the promotional exams are categorized as follows:
- Police Officer (PO) 1st Class Examination: 90 officers qualified for promotion to the ranks of Police Major and Police Lieutenant Colonel, achieving a 61.64% pass rate. 2. Police Officer (PO) 2nd Class Examination: 402 officers qualified for promotion to Police Lieutenant and Police Captain, with a pass rate of 29.87%. 3.
- Police Officer (PO) 3rd Class Examination: 1,202 officers qualified for ranks such as Police Master Sergeant, with a 28.34% pass rate.
- Police Officer (PO) 4th Class Examination: 1,113 officers qualified for promotion to Police Corporal and Police Staff Sergeant, achieving a 48.06% passing rate.
