Strong Group Athletics continued its rampage, clobbering Sharjah SC, 100-63, to punch its semifinal berth in the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship early Friday, Jan. 31 (Manila time).
After playing sparingly the last time, former NBA star Demarcus Cousins was back to his element, triggering a massive attack right in the opening frame that saw SGA build a 28-12 advantage which the PH club team never relinquished on the way to its fifth straight win in as many games.
The SGA cagers swept their group elims the other day and are now waiting for their semis rival set Saturday.
Cousins scattered 21 points on an impressive 8-of-13 shooting on top of 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in a 20-minute action while his fellow reinforcements in Chris McCullough and Malachi Richardson added 20 and nine points, respectively.
Mikey Williams and Dave Ildefonso contributed 11 points each while Rhenz Abando played solid defensively with four steals and a block apart from posting seven points and four rebounds.
