Rubilen Amit and Chezka Centeno join forces with their respective partners in the Kamui Mixed Doubles Open 10-Ball Championship on Feb. 25 to March 1 at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Amit, a world 9-ball and 10-ball champion, is teaming up with veteran Francisco “Django” Bustamante in the 32-pair field event sanctioned by the World Pool Association (WPA).
“Dream come true for me to partner with one of the LEGENDS of the sport, Coach Django. Let’s go coach!” Amit wrote on social media.
Centeno, also a world 10-ball titlist, for her part, will have Mark Estiola, a runner-up in last year’s Buffalo’s Pro Am Classic 9-Ball Open, as partner/
Another Filipino also seeing action is Roberto Gomez, who is pairing up with Bulgarian Kristina Zlateva.
Fil-Canadian Alex Pagulayan, who has been representing Canada for years, teams up with Germany’s Yvonne Hybler, while other notable players seeing action are American Allison Fisher with Canada’s John Morra, Germany’s Ralf Souquet and Serbia’s Bojana Sarac, Hall of Famer Mika Immonen and United States’ Caroline Pao, and Austrian Jasmin Puschan with Denis Grabe of Estonia.
The tournament offers prizes amounting to $100,000 with the champion team collecting the $30,000 prize. Runner-up winners up to 16th placers will also get a share of the prize pot.
