Petro Gazz cruised to a 25-19, 25-18, 25-9 victory over hapless Capital1 to extend its winning streak to seven games in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
The Angels hardly broke a sweat in disposing of the Solar Spikers, dictating the pace with their unstoppable attacks spearheaded by Myla Pablo and Brooke Van Sickle.
The hard-hitting Pablo flashed her vintage form and poured 11 kills, two blocks and one ace to finish with 14 points, while Van Sickle pumped in 13 points highlighted by 10 attacks.
The victory improved Petro Gazz to 8-1, temporarily keeping them at second while unbeaten Creamline battles Farm Fresh as of this writing.
The Angels lorded it over on all departments, particularly in the offense where they blasted 48 kills compared to the Solar Spikers’ only 24.
Petro Gazz also managed eight blocks — including four from Pablo and Ranya Musa — while also firing six aces.
Capital1 coach Roger Gorayeb tried to shuffle his lineup to find the right combination to no avail, leaving none from his stalwarts to score in double figures.
Heather Guino-o was the lone bright spot for the Solar Spikers with eight points, While Des Clemente had six points.
Capital1 continued its woes and absorbed its sixth consecutive loss to further plummet at the bottom standings with 1-9.
