Lino Cayetano is quite proud of “Caretakers,” the upcoming horror effort of Rein Entertainment starring Iza Calzado and Dimples Romana.
He attested the film is more than your average horror film.
I would say na very poetic siya in terms of imagery pati na rin yung dialogues,” he related.
It delves on environmental issues din. I think, this one is a first in local horror.”
Set in Bulacan, “Caretakers” centers on a fierce battle between two mothers, Audrey (Iza) and Lydia (Dimples), over the ownership of a piece of land.
“The story is not new,” said Lino. “We’ve heard about these things happening kahit noon pa. Pero what we did is make it relatable sa generation ngayon. Kasi kung mapapansin ninyo, very materialistic na ang mundo so, we want to tackle that here.”
Lino is quite proud of the “zero-waste management” they employed on the set.
“I think we are the first film production that utilized this approach na kung saan we made sure lahat ng kalat namin, lahat ng basura namin is put to good use after.”
“I am hoping na we would be able to somehow set an example for others to copy or follow. Kasi it’s going to be beneficial for everyone in the long run, lalo na sa mga anak natin, sa future nila and sa environment.”
To achieve this, Rein Entertainment partnered with local government units to recycle props, food.
Lino is aiming to become representative of Taguig’s 1st District in the coming election.
