The University of Perpetual Help Junior Altas seek a winning start to their title aspirations when they clash with the Mapua-Malayan School Red Robins in the opening of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Season 100 Juniors Basketball Tournament on Monday, Feb. 24, at the FilOil EcoOil Center in San Juan City.
Game is set at 10 a.m. with the Junior Altas looking to nail a statement win after a failed bid last season.
The Joph Cleopas-mentored Junior Altas lost to the Letran Squires last season.
Out to lead the Junior Altas are Lebron Jhames Daep, Jan Roluna, Aries Borja, Kelsey Baldoria, Icee Callangan, JD Pagulayan, Jericho Cristino, TJ Tabbuan and Lance Nitura.
The Squires clash with the Lyceum Junior Pirates at 8 a.m.
Calling the shots for the Squires is former PBA MVP winner Willie Miller.
The Las Piñas City-based Junior Altas are also pinning their hopes on six rookies – Kurt Velasquez, Louie Rosales, Felix Corpuz, Hanz Llupar, Kurt Patalinghug and Renzo Zanoria.
