University of Perpetual Altas maintained its composure down the stretch and survived La Salle Greenhills, 92-88, for its second straight win in the NCAA Season 100 junior’s basketball tournament at the FilOil EcoOil Center in San Juan City Wednesday, Feb. 26.
The Junior Altas stayed calm and collected after the Greenies staged comeback, cutting the deficit down to just four, 85-81.
But it proved to be the closest they could get as the Joph Cleopas-mentored squad made another run that all but settled the outcome of the game.
Leyte pride Jericho Cristino came through with an all-around showing, tallying
21 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block to lead the Junior Altas.
Lebron Jhames Daep was also solid, putting up a double-double effort of 14 points and 12 rebounds with one assist and two steals.
Guillian Quines topscored for Greenhills with 22 points apart from logging in seven rebounds, three assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Mapua turned back the defending champ Letran Squires via a 81-73 overtime win, while Jose Rizal University Light Bombers escaped Lyceum Junior Pirates, 67-64.
