PHUniversity of Perpetual Help scored twin victories over Jose Rizal University in the men’s and women’s volleyball of the NCAA Season 100 on Thursday, Feb. 27 at the St. Placid Gym in San Beda University in Manila.
Buoyed by the pair of explosive performances from Sahila Omipon and Winnie Bedan̈a, the Lady Altas took down the Lady Bombers, 25-17, 22-25, 25-14, 25-22 while Kobe Brian Tagupa powered the Altas Spikers to a straight set win, 25-20, 25-21, 25-19.
Omipon led the attack with 21 points built on 18 attacks and three aces while Bedan̈a also shone with 20 with 15 attacks, three aces and two blocks to help the Lady Altas pick up their second win in as many games.
Setter Fianne Ariola orchestrated the attack for Perpetual with 18 excellent sets while liberos Marian Andal, who registered 21 receptions and 10 digs, and Jodi Lozano, who also had 15 digs, provided the impressive floor defense for the Altas.
Tagupa, meanwhile, joined hands with Jeff Marapoc to steer the defending champions to another win with the former had 15 points to his name while the ladder added 13 to go with 10 excellent receptions and six digs.
