There’s another hot boy group in town.
Dubbed GAT, short for “Gawang Atin ‘To,” the group, composed of Ethan David, Charles Law, Michael Keith, Derick Ong, and Hans Paronda, are already making waves via social media.
GAT first made an impression among music fans with their vibrant cover of the James Reid hit “Huwag Ka Nang Humirit.”
They got fans even more excited when they dropped their cover of “Marikit” by Juan Caoile and Kyleswish.
But it was their hit cover of MMJ’s “Daleng-Dale” that ultimately established them as an act to watch out for.
Note the cover, which is also part of the original soundtrack of the Viva One hit series “Ang Mutya ng Section E,” recently hit #8 on Spotify Philippines’ Daily Viral Songs chart.
Beyond that, the boy’s dance choreography for “Daleng-Dale” is now being copied by many as seen on TikTok.
Now, let’s get to know them more.
Ethan is also an actor. He has starred in the films “Squad Goals” (2018), “Two Weeks, End” (2022), and “How To Love Mr. Heartless” (2022).
The charismatic Charles has a playful energy that makes him one to watch out for. After starring in films such as “Penduko” (2023) and “The Ship Show” (2023), as well as “The Rain in España” (2023), he is now ready to be known as dancer and singer.
Michael is an R&B performer with a versatile voice. He recently showcased this versatility via singles “Ayayay” and “Drowning.”
With his delightful smile, Derick can easily connect with fans. A hockey and volleyball player by heart, he is ready to add singer and dancer to his resume.
Hans has a rich, resonant, and expressive voice, something he displayed in “Born to Be a Star” in 2020. He has released several solo singles including “Ok Lang Ako” and “Puto” (featuring Janno Gibbs).
Catch more of GAT at “Fusion: The Philippine Music Festival” at the CCP Open Grounds this March 15 and the “P-Pop It Up” event at Viva Cafe, March 22.
