The stage is set for the latest season of “Pinoy Big Brother.”
Now on its 20th year, the show is to commemorate the milestone doing something really special: It will feature talents from both Sparkle GMA Artist Center and Star Magic as housemates.
The move, unprecedented as it is, has fans brimming with excitement.
The feeling is shared by Laurenti Dyogi, ABS-CBN head of entertainment production.
He told us, “Siyempre very exciting for me because like most, I never thought something like this could happen.”
“And I’m really happy din sa mga papasok sa Bahay Ni Kuya because it will definitely be a boon to them, career-wise. It will make them build better affinity with audiences.”
Lauren is not too eager to allow any hint whatsoever as to who these personalities are but he maintained, “Dahil 20th year, we will make sure na ibang-iba ito from previous editions. Maraming suprises na aabangan talaga.”
Returning as hosts are Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Kim Chiu, Enchong Dee, Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, and Alexa Ilacad.
They will be joined by two of Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s brightest stars, Gabbi Garcia and Mavy Legaspi.
Said Gabbi, “I’m a huge fan of the show and I’m just so happy to be part of it.”
“I’m looking forward to learning a lot with the stint,” intoned Mavy.
To further emphasize the collaborative nature of the edition, the powers that be decided to tap GMA-7 singer Julie Anne San Jose and ABS-CBN’s Darren Espanto to render a special version of “Sikat Ang Pinoy,” the theme song of the popular reality TV show originally interpreted by Toni Gonzaga and Sam Milby.
“It is a dream come true for everybody. Siguro lalo na sa part ng artists because we have been waiting for this moment,” Julie Anne said.
“Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition” premieres March 9 on GMA.
