The Perpetual Junior Altas eye their fourth win when they take on the LPU Junior Pirates in the NCAA Season 100 Juniors Basketball tournament at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
The Junior Altas of head coach Joph Cleopas are actually aiming for their second win in a row as they hope to enter the upper half of the standings.
The Las Pin̈as City based squad currently has a 3-1 win loss card, while the GenTri based LPU has remained winless in four games.
Perpetual is coming off a convincing 92-80 win against Arellano Braves, giving it enough momentum heading into the clash against Lyceum which is still searching for first win after dropping an 83-77 decision against San Sebastian.
The Junior Altas are once again set to rely on 6-foot-7 Lebron Jhames Daep, Jan Roluna, Jericho Cristino, JD Pagulayan, Icee Callangan, Loiue Ramirez.
Along with backup players Aries Borja, Kelsey Baldoria, Kurt Velasquez, TJ Tabbuan, Lance Nitura, Jim Corpuz, Renzo Zanoria and Ezekiel Zamoras.
“I told them not to be complacent, every game is important,” said Cleopas
The Tamayo-owned squad hopes to make it to the Final Four for the second consecutive year and third in the history of the Jr Altas in celebration of the 50th founding anniversary of the said university in Las Piñas.
Junior Altas, San Beda Red Cubs and EAC Brigadiers are tied at the top spot with a 3-1 win loss slate, while Arellano, La Salle Greenhills, JRU, Mapua and defending champion Letran Squires are tied at 2-2, 1-3 for SSCR and 0-4 for LPU.
