Perpetual defused JRU with an 85-78 win in the NCAA100 at National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Season 100 Juniors Basketball Tournament at the FilOil EcoOil Centre on Wednesday, March 12.
Lebron Jhames Daep led the way for the Junior Altas in their matchup against the Light Bombers with a team-high 15 points and 8 boards, highlighted by three triples while JD Pagulayan, Jim Corpuz and Jericho Cristino each scored 13 points to lead the team to its fifth win in six games.
Icee Callangan made four all-important free throws in the dying seconds to give his team a six-point cushion which proved to be enough to bag the win.
The Junior Altas enjoyed a 35-16 entering the second frame but the Light Bombers came rallying back when they suddenly cut the lead down to two with 1:47 left in the game
Daep though came to the rescue with an undergoal stab to keep the Altas head afloat
Lee Marin also contributed for JRU with 24 points.
The Las Piñas City-based Altalettes have only three play dates left: against EAC on March 23, against SSCR on March 25 and against defending champion Letran Squires on March 31.
