The Suwon KT Sonicboom stretched their winning run to five games with a 69-63 win over the Goyang Sono Skygunners in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) Thursday, March 13.
It was the first time that former UAAP stars Kevin Quiambao and JD Cagulangan faced each other with the former and Lee Jae-Do putting up decent numbers for the Skygunners.
Rayshaun Hammonds tallied 17 points and 14 rebounds with three assists, while three other players scored in double figures in Suwon’s five-game winning streak.
JD Cagulangan had a quiet three points, two rebounds, and one steal as the Sonicboom hiked their card to 26-17 at fourth.
Quiambao had 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 33 minutes of action.
Meanwhile, Kofi Cockburn and Fil-American Justin Gutang formed a lethal 1-2 punch and lifted the Seoul Samsung Thunders over the Busan KCC Egis, 83-77.
Cockburn logged in 34 points and 13 rebounds while Gutang posted 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and one steal.
Seoul secured its 14th victory against 30 defeats, tying with Goyang in the standings.
