Former ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon had a front row seat in the training camp of Lions Nation MMA founder and former two-time lightweight kingEduard “Landslide” Folayang – and all he can say is that he’s excited.
Folayang will look to even the score against rival-turned-good-friend Shinya Aoki in a clash between two lightweight legends at ONE 172: Takeru vs. Rodtang this Sunday, March 23, at Saitama Super Arena in Japan.
This match will be crucial for Folayang’s personal count with the Japanese legend. He currently trails Aoki 2-1 in this series after getting submitted twice in their last two matchups.
For Belingon, Folayang’s fire in this training camp is unmatched.
“That was a great training camp,” Belingon said.
“All I can say is we’ve done everything we can in our camp, and kuya Eduard has put everything into this camp to make sure he comes out prepared.”
While not sharing details on their fight strategy, “The Silencer” is confident that their collaborative training methods will work wonders for Folayang. He believes the same teamwork helped undisputed ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio, and guided his own matchup with Bibiano Fernandes, regardless of the result.
“We’ve prepared a solid game plan for this fight, though I’m not at liberty to say what we’re gonna do, I just know that it’s gonna be perfect for this rivalry match against Shinya Aoki,” Belingon said.
That’s why he has no doubt that Folayang will get his hands raised come fight night.
“Just basing it on how I’ve seen kuya Eduard work in the camp and all the preparations we did, I’m 100 percent confident in an Eduard Folayang win,” Belingon said. “My confidence is unshaken
