Romance shines at its brightest in the highly anticipated series adaptation of “Avenues of the Diamond,” the fourth installment in Gwy Saludes’ hit Wattpad saga “University Series.”
Premiering on Viva One on April 11, this new chapter proves that even the roughest edges of hate can shimmer into love.
The story will center on Aubrey Caraan’s Samantha, a Communication student from Ateneo de Manila University.
Desperate to break free from her toxic and overbearing family, Samantha agrees to an arranged marriage with Clyden as played by Lance Carr.
Clyden is a sharp-witted and principled Medicine student from University of the Philippines.
He has always obeyed his parents’ wishes, even when they dictate his future. However, he has no intention of truly going through with the arrangement, especially not with someone like Sam—the daughter of a corrupt man he has no respect for.
But as time goes by, they gradually grow closer until they inevitably fall for each other. What was once just a mere arrangement turns into a love they never saw coming.
However, love is never simple. Family problems and personal ambitions test their relationship, forcing them to make difficult choices.
Will they choose to fight for their love?
Adding even more sparkle to the series is Claudine Barretto as Samantha’s mom and seasoned actor Bobby Andrews as the father.
Abby Bautista takes on the role of Naomi, Sam’s half-sister.
“With this one, we will stay true to the book pero hindi mawawala ’yong cinematic pa rin and lalabas natin ’yong pagkakilig,” series director Gino Santos promised.
