SJ Belangel fired 17 points and helped the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus beat the Busan KCC Egis, 96-67, to snap their four-game slide in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) Friday, March 28.
Determined to end a string of heartbreaking defeats, the Pegasus sustained a hot start on the way to posting one of their biggest wins so far.
In another solid all-around game, Belangel listed five rebounds and four assists in almost 26 minutes of play.
Andrew Nicholson led the team with 23 points, five rebounds, four assists and one steal. Youssopha Ndoye and Kim Jun-Yi added 14 and 13 points, respectively.
The win enabled Daegu to even its record at 25-25 to remain at fifth place.
Meanwhile, Carl Tamayo and the Changwon LG Sakers ran out of gas late and yielded to the front-running Seoul SK Knights, 79-78, in the face-off of two former University of the Philippines stars.
Tamayo posted nine points and eight rebounds for the Sakers while fellow ex-Maroon Juan Gomez de Liano chipped in seven points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal for Seoul.
