Atty. Raul Lambino is confident that his plan to shoot a remake of “Hari Sa Hari, Lahi Sa Lahi,” will eventually push through.
Although still currently on the campaign trail, being among Senatorial bets of PDP-Laban, he divulged, “I have been in talks with various investors here and abroad and I think it is almost a done deal.”
He is also working on updating the script for today’s audiences.
Note the original came out in the 80s as directed by Eddie Romero.
But why “Hari Sa Hari, Lahi Sa Lahi?”
Lambino explained how the film tackles the friendly relations enjoyed by Filipinos and the Chinese long before the arrival of Europeans and the Americans here.
“It is a good reminder of the brotherhood we share with the Chinese for centuries. We are celebrating the 50th year of Chinese-Filipino diplomatic relations this year so, I think it would be timely,” he added.
Note that some of the investors are actually Chinese.
“I’ve been to China and I’m being asked by some Chinese producers to go ahead with it and talagang gusto nilang i-revive iyong pelikula,” he continued.
Lambino is tapping Sen. Robin Padilla to star in the film.
“He will be the best to do this because, well, aside from being a good politician he’s a multi-talented actor. And Sen. Robin is also an avid historical researcher. Nag-aral talaga.”
Prior, Lambino produced two films: “Talahib At Rosas 2,” and “Dimas At Magdalena.”
