University of Perpetual Help men’s and women’s teams go for their respective bounce-back wins when they return to action in front of their home fans in the NCAA Season 100 volleyball tournament on Thursday, April 3.
After their 25-16, 25-22, 25-18 loss to the College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers, the Lady Altas try to regain their winning ways against the Letran Lady Knights in their 1 p.m.
Sporting similar 6-1 cards, expect a war of attrition in their much-awaited showdown at the Home of the Altas Gym.
Surely, the Lady Altas will have the support of the crowd, and so are the Altas when the reigning champions clash with the Knights at 3 p.m.
Opening the women’s action at 11 a.m. is a duel between league-leading College of Saint Benilde and Mapua University
“After our defeat to Benilde, we focused more on on floor defense and blocking, hopefully we can do better this time,” said Lady Atas head coach Sandy Rieta.
Shaila Omipon, Winnie Bedana Pauline Reyes, Bea Uy, rookie Jemalyn Menor, setter Fianne Ariola and liberos Marina Andal and Jodi Lozano are expected to spearhead Perpetual anew.
The Lady Knights, on the other hand, can lean on Gia Maquilang, Vanessa Sarie, and Judiel Nitura to preside over their offensive assault.
Meanwhile, reigning champions Perpetual Altas Spikers eye to recover from their 25-17, 25-22, 25-23 setback to the Blazers.
“Skills are there and we have scouted Letran games so far. The biggest adjustments we are making now is our consistency in blocking, floor defense and reception because those were lacking in our game against CSB,” said Perpetual men’s coach Macky Carino.
CSB and Mapua, meantime, clash at 9 a.m.
