Manila, Philippines – Lions Clubs International (LCI) District 301-A1 (Manila) will hold its 29th Anniversary and 30th Induction Ceremonies on Wednesday at the Le Pavilion at Metropolitan Park, Metrobank Avenue corner EDSA Extension, Pasay City.
During the event, District Governor Anton Wong Lim will be affirmed as the district’s chief executive officer.
Multiple District 301 (Philippines) Council Chairperson Robert Roque Jr., District 301-A1 First Vice District Governor Ruth Chua, Second Vice District Governor Henry Junior Tiu, Cabinet Secretary and lawyer Rosario Reyes, and Cabinet Treasurer Walter Santillan will be installed into office along with the other members of the Cabinet, said Past District Governor Rodolfo Midel, the district affair’s induction committee chairperson.
Past International Director Joseph Preston of LCI Multiple District 21 (Arizona & Needles, California), who is also endorsed as the next Lions International 2nd Vice President, will keynote the affair.
Governor Lim said the anniversary theme is “Nurture Nature For A Better Future” with former senator Heherson Alvarez, the former Climate Change Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the National Commission on Climate Change, as one of the speakers.
Lim said the theme and Alvarez’s speech will reinforce the district-led tree-planting project which promises to plant 100,000 seedlings in a span of three years and nurture them into becoming trees in a 50-hectare area called “Lions Sanctuary” in San Nicolas, Batangas. The project has so far witnessed to the planting of 10,000 seedlings.
