KAPAMILYA actor Matteo Guidicelli has admitted putting fellow actor Enrique Gil to the test to see if he would get jealous of Liza Soberano.
“I tried to make him jealous. During face time, I would tell him dude I’m eating ice cream with her, having breakfast. Pero wala. Mukhang secure na ang love niya,” said Guidicelli, in an interview in “Tonight with Boy Abunda” aired over ABS-CBN.
Guidicelli, Gil and Soberano are appearing in the new Kapamilya prime time romantic-comedy “Dolce Amore,” in which parts of the scenes were shot in Italy.
It was Guidicelli and Soberano who went to Europe to shoot some scenes for the series. Gil is rumored to be courting Soberano in real-life. But Soberano said that she was not ready to fall in love.
“Wala pa kaming eksena ni Enrique. Kaibigan ko naman ’yun at pareho kaming Cebuano,” Guidicelli said. In the new series, Guidicelli plays Giancarlo who is the best friend of Serena (Soberano).
Guidicelli, 25, also brushed off speculations that he and girlfriend Sarah Geronimo were not in good terms after he told Abunda that he had a wonderful Valentine with his girlfriend.
“I had the best Valentine of my life because I was with the love of my life. We wanted to keep it private but it came out. You can’t keep love private. Love is love,” the Filipino-Italian actor said.
Guidicelli said that he and Geronimo had dinner in a hotel and went go-karting in Makati City on Feb. 14.
He also admitted that he is more Filipino than Italian. “Culture parehong pareho – religious, moral and values, and family relationships, pareho. At mahilig tayong kumain,” Guidicelli said.
He recalled that his late grandfather had wished him to make a movie or teleserye in Italian language.
“One of the wishes of my grandfather, before he passed away, is for me to make a movie or television series in Italian. I told him that’s impossible! ABS-CBN will never do that,” Guidicelli said. “Months after he passed away, it happened.”
Guidicelli, grandson of late Senator and Chief Justice Marcelo Fernan, initially rose to fame through racing career when he was 11 years old. He was three-time winner for Karter of the Year award.
When he became interested in acting, he took workshops in New York and Chicago. The actor was introduced in the teenage comedy sitcom “Go Kada Go” in 2007. His first lead role came in “Agua Bendita” aired over ABS-CBN in 2010.
