Kapamilya star Carol Banawa said that she was thrilled that her song “Bakit Di Totohanin” was featured in an episode of the hit American supernatural television drama series “The Vampire Diaries” on CW network recently.
“They have aired it already! ‘The Vampire Diaries’ used my song in one of the scenes for the episode 716. It was a scene between Stefan and Valerie. They used, ‘BAKIT DI TOTOHANIN.’ “ said Banawa on Instagram.
“I am in disbelief right now but very grateful! Again thank you to ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Music Supervisor, Chris Mollere, Ian Somerhalder who directed this episode and the rest of the cast!” she added.
Multi-awarded talk show host Boy Abunda recalled in his late-night show “Tonight With Boy Abunda” that Banawa received a call from the producers of the show informing her that they wanted to use her song.
Banawa then referred the “Vampire” producers to Star Music, a record label owned and operated by ABS-CBN.
The singer now based in the US said that she was pleased with the results of the episode after watching the series.
It was used as background when two friends went on a holiday in the Philippines.
“Who would’ve thought that a song that was released almost 20 years ago would come to life again? Sometimes God really works in mysterious ways. I will not complain nor will I ask for more. I am just grateful for what He has blessed me with. Iba ka talaga Lord,” Banawa also said.
The song “Bakit Di Totohanin” was lifted from the 1997 album called “Carol.” In 2000, the album was repackaged and contained three additional tracks.
The same song is also the title of the 2001 blockbuster romantic-comedy movie of Piolo Pascual and Judy Ann Santos under Star Cinema.
