FILIPINO-Canadian singer Darren Espanto has said that he is still hoping to do a project soon with her crush Cassy Legaspi, daughter of actors Carmina Villareal and Zoren Legaspi.
“I haven’t seen Tita Carmina (Villaroel) pa po eh! Pero sana payagan n’ya kami ni Cassy na magkaroon ng feel-good project. Yung tipong friends-friends lang ang character,” said Espanto, in a news quote published in Star Cinema’s twitter recently.
In 2015, Espanto admitted that he has a crush on Cassy. But some of his fans did not like his pronouncement and bashed Cassy on social media.
Carmina said that her daughter was not affected by the negative reactions of Espanto’s fans.
But it seems that Espanto will have to wait for quite some time to reveal his feelings for Cassy. Zoren posted a “warning” on his Instagram account when the two teenagers met.
“No way… after 48 years!” said Zoren in his photo caption on March 14 that showed his his children — son Mavy and daughter Cassy — beside Espanto. Fans of Zoren took the caption as a joke and laughed about it.
Espanto, 14, rose to fame when he competed in Season 1 of “The Voice Kids Philippines” and finished first-runner up to Lyca Gairanod.
In 2014, Espanto released his first full-length self-titled album called “Darren” which went Platinum.
On Jan. 18, the singing idol sang “Tell the World of His Love” during the visit of Pope Francis at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.
Espanto also holds the record for the youngest Filipino to stage a concert at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on May 29, 2015. He was 13 years old then.
