MODEL and television host Georgina Wilson tied the knot with her British fiance Arthur Burnand at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winchester, England last Saturday, April 30.
The wedding of Wilson and Burnand was kept under wraps until “Preview” magazine posted the cover of its May 2016 issue on Friday, April 29, that featured Wilson wearing a wedding dress. The caption of the photo read: “As Miss Wilson bids goodbye to singlehood, say hello to Mrs. Burnand.”
Friends of the Filipino-British personality flew to England to attend the wedding. They included Anne Curtis-Smith, Isabelle Daza, Liz Uy, Solenn Heussaff, fashion designer Rajo Laurel, television personality Tim Yap, Bea Soriano, Laureen Uy, BJ Pascual, Nicole Andersson, Martin Cajucom, Jasmine Curtis, and Raymond Gutierrez.
Wilson wore a wedding gown created by Filipino designer Monique Lhuillier. The couple’s official photographer was Hugo Burnand, the same lensman who took the wedding photos of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
A day before the wedding, close friends of Wilson attended her despedida de soltera (send-off party).
Yap said on Instagram that Wilson was welcomed by Burnand’s family in Hampshire, Winchester, United Kingdom.
Wilson, 30, was born in Wichita, Kansas, USA. The niece of former Miss Universe Gloria Diaz graduated with honors at the University of Sydney, Australia where she took up accounting and finance.
Before Wilson got married, she hosted Cycle 3 of Asia’s Next Top Model and endorsed several products. She also dated Borgy Manotoc, son of Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos.
Burnand is one of the owners of Soxks Concept which makes daring and revolutionary socks. Founded in 2013, it is co-owned by Matt Bowden.
“Arthur and Matt hope to bring some creative energy, a strong dose of cheekiness, and a philosophical approach to the world of hosiery. SOXKS’ design inspirations are manifold and range flirtatiously from the preposterous to the nostalgic, from literature to Icelandic rock music, and from Renaissance scientists to iconic confectionery, covering most bases in between,” the company’s website said.
After the Wilson-Burnand wedding, Heussaff will marry Nico Bolzico in France on May 21. Later this year, Daza will also tie the knot with Adrien Semblat.
