POPULAR teen stars Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo are in hot seat after their viral photos showed them holding their ballots inside the polling precinct in Quezon City yesterday.
The Commission on Elections has said that it is an election offense to take a selfie with the ballot.
Anyone found guilty could spend up to six years in jail, the poll body also said.
Comelec Chairman James Jimenez has said that he will talk to Padilla and Bernardo about the election offense.
“Kathryn and Daniel and I need to talk,” said Jimenez in his tweet.
Netizens bashed the stars for the election offense.
“Lol Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla just broke COMELEC’s rules yet their fans are still defending them. How stupid can they all get?”
“Even if you’re celebrity, you are not allowed to take pictures of your ballot.”
“Dear #kathrynbernardo and #danielpadilla. Be a good example to your million of followers. Bawal ito!”
Other fans defended Padilla and Bernardo.

Earlier, Padilla trended on Twitter after he cast his vote in Pasong Tamo in Quezon City.
Padilla voted for the first time with his mother Karla Estrada.
He earned the hashtags “daniel,” “king,” “pasong,” “kathniel,” and “tamo.”
Bernardo, Padilla’s screen partner, also cast her vote at North Susana in Quezon City.
Both Bernardo and Padilla are endorsers of the Liberal Party. They are expected to leave for Madrid, Spain anytime this month to shoot their new movie.
