Senator Cynthia A. Villar urged the Aquino administration to sign a Congress-approved bill providing for the development and promotion of farm tourism in the Philippines.
“Since the Philippines is blessed with abundant natural resources, biological diversity and cultural heritage, we have what it takes to take a strong lead in farm tourism in the region, and even globally,” Sen. Cynthia A. Villar said.
Villar is the chairwoman of the Senate agriculture and food committee. She sponsored of the Senate-approved measure, Bill No. 3002.
The measure was passed in the Senate before Congress went on an election break last February.
In a speech delivered recently during the 4th Organic Harvest Festival held in Majayjay, Laguna, Villar linked her bill to the Costales Nature Farms in Laguna which is promoting farm tourism and organic agriculture.
