PRESIDENTIAL sister Kris Aquino has said that she is studying legal options against a company that allegedly used her name in endorsing the products she never really tried.
Aquino said that showbizmanila, an entertainment website, has sent her a link to warn her about the lies being peddled by a company using her name.
“I have already forwarded to my lawyer and Boy Abunda’s office this article using me to promote products I’ve never tried, and never even heard of and disparaging what was a very good relationship w/ Olay and its parent company P&G,” Aquino said on Instagram.
“(I have endorsed Pantene, Pampers, Safeguard, Downy, OLAY, Oral B, and currently I still endorse Ariel with 2 more TVCs shot & waiting for airing) – it has been more than 11 fruitful years w/ them,” Aquino added.
“Sana naman itong cream and ingestible medicine na ‘to gumawa ng pangalan dahil magaling at maganda ang produkto nila at hindi galing sa pag-imbento ng kwento,” said Aquino, who is now in Hawaii with her sons for a two-month vacation.
Later, Aquino posted on IG some of the products she is using in Hawaii.
“I took a picture of what’s in my bathroom countertop. It’s after 11 p.m. here in Hawaii, so obviously these are really products I use – mahirap magpanggap especially pag hindi walking distance ang shopping mall,” she said.
“FYI SKII is owned by P&G. The other skin care products are from my dermatologist Dra. Javellana,” Aquino added.
Aquino, 45, has been named one of the country’s most effective and leading endorsers these days.
In 2008, Aquino topped “Yes!” magazine’s list of top celebrity endorsers with 21 product endorsements to her name.
She revealed to the magazine where her endorsements fees went the same year.
“The bulk of my advertising this year (2008) went to Baby James’ educational fund (pre-paid lump sum from Grade 1 to 4th year college), his wealth-managed trust fund which we’ll receive after college graduation and Josh’s wealth-managed fund as well,’ said Kris, in an exclusive interview with the popular entertainment magazine.
Aquino also said then that she helped in the medical expenses of her mother former President Corazon Aquino who at that time was diagnosed with colon cancer.
“I take care of some of my mom’s medical expenses because it makes me feel good but she’s forever wanting to pay me back,” she added.
