The Cagayan Valley Rising Suns go for a fourth straight win when they face the struggling Derulo Accelero Oilers today in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao, Quezon City.
The Rising Suns are off to a torrid start, winning their first three games – the latest was a 92-75 romp over Arellano University last Tuesday.
John Pinto tallied a game-high 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting to lead the Rising Suns to their best season start before taking a well-deserved five-day break.
That makes them the solid favorites when they clash with the Oilers at 4 p.m.
The Oilers are languishing at the bottom after dropping their first three games, including a 59-86 loss to Boracay Rum and 60-88 to Cebuana Lhuillier last Tuesday.
Zambales M-Builders (2-1) is also heavily favored to clinch its second straight win against winless Arellano U (0-2) in their 12 noon encounter while the 2 o’clock match pitting Boracay Rum against Café France could go either way.
