1PACMAN, which aims to push for benefits for poor and retired athletes, is assured of at least one seat in the House of Representatives after its strong showing in the party-list race in the 2016 general elections.
According to the partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Transparency Server, 1PACMAN (One Patriotic Coalition of Marginalized Nationals, Inc.) is currently in third place with 1,256,147 votes as of 2 p.m. on May 10, with 91.71% of precincts reporting.
Leading the way is Ako Bicol with 1,597,018 votes, followed by Gabriela with 1,307,556 votes.
Businessman-sportsman Mikee Romero, who owns the GlobalPort Batang Pier in the PBA, banners 1PACMAN. Several athletes, including GlobalPort’s Terrence Romeo, Star’s James Yap, Ginebra’s LA Tenorio, Tropang TNT’s Jayson Castro, and volleyball stars Abigail Maraño and Rachel Anne Daquis, support the party-list.
Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, who is also set to claim a seat in the Senate, supports the party-list that bore his nickname. (ABS-CBN News)
