Manny Pacquiao is putting the finishing touches on his Senate buildup so he can fully concentrate on his farewell fight – the rubber match with Tim Bradley on April 9 in Las Vegas.
The past few days have been pretty hectic for Pacquiao, who is running for a Senate seat during the May elections.
The fighter has been personally attending to matters concerning his campaign since Pacquiao is expected to plunge into training by the first week of February.
Whether Pacquiao will spend the entire training camp in the US remains a mystery up until yesterday but the 37-year-old eight-division champion insists he will be armed to the teeth by the time he faces Bradley in their scheduled 12-rounder at the MGM Grand.
“I will kick off my training here although I have already been working on my strength and conditioning,” said Pacquiao.
The last few days and weeks, Pacquiao has been holding marathon basketball sessions in Metro Manila and General Santos City and he intends to do the same thing in the succeeding days.
Early next week, Pacquiao is actually flying to Los Angeles for a press conference at the Beverly Hills Hotel set Jan. 19 where he and Bradley will come face-to-face once more to drumbeat their third meeting.
Two days later on Jan. 21, Pacquiao and Bradley and Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank will take the spotlight anew as another presser takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York. (Nick Giongco)
