Police have arrested a 22-year-old college student who tried to extort money from his two classmates whom he secretly filmed while in their intimate moment during their class outing in Batangas.
Senior Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, head of the Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), said the two complainants were actually surprised that the man who has been blackmailing them with their sex video was their classmate Adonis Evan de Leon.
“During our investigation, we found out that there was indeed a sex video and it was secretly taken during their outing in Batangas,” said Eleazar.
“The suspect demanded R30,000 from them in exchange for not uploading it in the internet,” he added.
The two victims then sought the assistance of the ACG personnel and at around 7:30 a.m. on Monday, it was agreed that the money will be sent to a money remittance center in Sta. Rosa City.
Eleazar said they immediately posted ACG personnel in the area who arrested de Leon as soon as he took the money.
The official said the cellular phone seized from the suspect which contain the sex video will be used in the filing of charges against de Leon.
The cases, he said, is violation of Republic Act 9995 or the “Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act”, R.A. 10175 or the “Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012” and robbery-extortion.
