Vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo has raised concern over possible cheating when the official canvassing of the Congress starts for presidential and vice presidential candidates.
What worries Robredo is that consistent attempt of the camp of her closest rival, Senator Bongbong Marcos, of canvassing figures which run counter to the official tally of both the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsilble Voting (PPCRV) and the Commission on Elections.
“I hope that they have no plans of cheating during the canvassing because what I worry is that the numbers (from Comelec) are very clear, yet, they are engaging on mind-conditioning (of different result),” said Robredo.
As of latest count, Robredo leads the vice presidential tally by more than 250,000 votes with the counting of the Ceriticate of Canvass almost done.
But the camp of Marcos has been claming that Marcos will win the vice presidential race by more than 100,000 votes.
“We have no other basis but the numbers from the Comelec. Our numbers jive with the numbers of the Comelec and the PPCRV but theirs is not. So I really don’t know why,” said Robredo.
She explained that their own tally came from the information given by their watchers in every polling precincts which she said are similar from the numbers of the Comelec and the PPCRV.
