2 p.m. – National University vs La Salle
National University looks to finally finish off its mission for a grand return to the pinnacle of the UAAP juniors basketball tournament when it tangles anew with the tough fighting La Salle today at The Arena in San Juan.
While the Bullpups are gunning for coronation, the Junior Archers are eager to repeat their 70-61 victory last week and force a do-or-die match up to offset NU’s thrice to beat advantage heading into this series.
In the league’s history, only two teams have stormed back from a thrice to win disadvantage. Both those feats happened in UAAP 76 as Ateneo pulled the rug on La Salle in the Women’s volleyball tournament while UP also did it against La Salle in the Women’s division of Table Tennis.
That’s why despite a morale boosting win last week, the Junior Archers still face a tall order.
“Our backs are still against the wall. We are just going to go out there like there’s no tomorrow and improve some more because I know NU will look to bounce back and start strong on Friday,” said La Salle coach Boris Aldeguer.
