The severed pairs of human arms and legs wrapped inside a rice sack found near the Senate entrance Wednesday morning belongs to a man.
The victim was Reymundo Bacordo, 50, a car dealer, of Rosario, Batangas. Bacordo was identified by his wife yesterday at the Pasay City police headquarters through a scar on his left leg.
His wife Helen, 43, said Reymundo went missing Tuesday at 1 p.m. after meeting a prospective client.
Helen said her husband left home onboard a gray Mitsubishi Montero 2015 with conduction sticker NH 8368 and was for sale.
Helen told Senior Supt. Joel Doria, Pasay police chief, that Reymundo failed to return that day. Sensing that something bad happened to her husband, she reported the incident at around 4 p.m. Wednesday to the Rosario police.
A few hours later, Helen said she received news from a friend that severed pairs of human arms ang legs were found in a sack near the Senate.
Helen went to the Veronica Funeral Homes in Pasay to check and discovered a scar on the victim’s left leg similar to his husband’s.
She also identified him through the slipper sling marks on both of his feet and his hands.
However, Doria said that they still have to conduct tests on the victim’s cadaver to confirm Helen’s claims.
“Yon po ang sabi niya (Helen) pero kailangan natin maconfirm thru fingerprint (matching). That’s for verification and protocol,” said Doria.
Doria said they are eyeing a deoxyribonucleic acid test of the mutilated parts.
Fingerprints have been taken from the severed arms and legs and submitted to the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City for identification.
Helen told the police she could not think of any person who could kill and has a grudge on her husband.
It was reported that the victim had a huge amount of cash for deposit and jewelry when he went missing.
Doria said they have yet to investigate the case and the business transactions of the victim.
“As of now, ongoing pa rin ang investigation para maidentify ang motibo sa kaso at suspek,” said Doria.
Reymundo’s severed arms and legs were found by a street vendor, Meniano Samarro.
Police said they were still fresh when they were discovered and did not emit foul odor. Lawmen theorized that Reymundo was killed and dumped an hour before he was discovered.
Police are still searing for the victim’s car and his other missing body parts.
