A teenager, who allegedly stabbed his friend, surrendered to the police in Malabon City Sunday.
Police identified the suspect as Cyrus Galvez, 18, of Barangay Tonsuya, Malabon.
Police Officer 2 Julius Mabasa, case investigator, said Galvez surrendered after “his conscience haunted him.” The suspect also surrendered the kitchen knife he used in stabbing the victim, Dante Castro, 32, also a resident of Barangay Tonsuya.
Investigation showed Galvez and Castro had an argument while hanging out near a flood station in Barangay Tonsuya at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Witnesses told probers that Galvez walked away when he got irked with Castro. After a few minutes, the suspect returned with a kitchen knife.
Galvez reportedly stabbed Castro once in the body. The suspect fled with his knife while concerned citizens rushed Castro to the Pagamutang Bayan ng Malabon. Relatives of Castro later transferred him to the Tondo Medical Hospital where he is now recuperating.
Police said that Galvez will face frustrated murder raps. (Jel Santos)
