CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Six of seven suspected members of a robbery and carnap gang that were killed in two separate shootouts Monday have been identified.
Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino, regional police chief, said the slain suspects include the gang leader Jimboy Santos.
The others are Reynaldo Domingo, Christian Diorge Uy and Elmer Ballesteros of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, Dante Deogrades of Sta. Maria, Bulacan and Rolando Castroverde of Bulacan.
They were identified based on their identification cards in their possession.
Aquino said his men also recovered five firearms – two 38-caliber and three 45-caliber revolvers – and one fragmentation grenade.
The slain suspects are members of the dreaded Jimboy Santos gang that operated in Central Luzon.
The lone survivor in the shootouts was not identified by the police.
The gang, aboard two vehicles, was about to rob the CTEC Industries in Pandacaque, Mexico when it was intercepted by police.
At the sight of policemen flagging them down, the suspects in Mitsubishi Montero (PQC 877) and Mitsubishi Adventure (ABJ 1722) sped away, triggering a chase.
The suspects’ vehicles went different directions.
The Montero was cornered in Barangay Pulong Cutud in Angeles City. Two suspects were shot down.
The Adventure, on the other hand, ended up in Pandakakai resettlement in Mexico. Five were slain and another suspect was captured. (MAR SUPNAD)
