Games Today
(Philsports Complex, Pasig)
1 p.m. – Bounty Fresh vs Navy (men’s)
4 p.m. – NU vs UP (women’s)
6:30 p.m. – Pocari vs BaliPure (women’s)
Expect an explosive match in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Open Conference today when Pocari Sweat stakes its unbeaten record against powerhouse BaliPure at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The anticipated nail-biting duel is set at 6:30 p.m. with the Lady Warriors seeking to protect their 5-0 win-loss record at the helm.
Though already in the semifinals with Pocari, BaliPure is also out on its own mission of fanning its winning streak to five games since losing to Air Force in its opening match.
Both teams are slated to parade their own formidable cast, with Pocari welcoming former La Salle standout Michele Gumabao and National University (NU) product Myla Pablo back in its roster after missing the previous matches due to light injuries.
Gumabao and Pablo, who are both fiery spikers, will lead the Lady Warriors at the attack line along with a fierce supporting cast composed of Elaine Kasilag, Lutgarda Malaluan and Rossan Fajardo.
Kasilag, Malaluan and Fajardo filled in the shoes temporarily left by Gumabao and Pablo in the previous matches, including in their four-set victory against Iriga City last week where the trio combined for 41 points.
The weeklong respite might be beneficial for Pocari, particularly to Gumabao and Pablo to recuperate, but BaliPure is hoping to keep its momentum going following a straight-set triumph over Baguio three days back.
