CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Bureau of Customs (BoC) here has formed a seven-man anti-corruption, anti smuggling team in support of President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign against smuggling and against corruption in the government bureaucracy that will be launching major crackdowns on both Customs and non-Customs personnel.
The seven-man anti-corruption, anti-smuggling team is composed of trusted personnel from within the Bureau of Customs Collection District 10 with marching orders from Customs Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Jessie Dellosa to also crackdown on BoC personnel who are in cahoots with smugglers and crooked brokers without affecting speedy transaction and adding to the burden caused by red tape.
The creation of the anti-corruption team is part of Dellosa’s continuing reform in the bureaucracy, giving more tooth, this time, to support Duterte’s.
Dellosa, in view of Memorandum Circular No. 1 issued by the Office of the President, said in a statement yesterday, that “I am still in charge of the Intelligence Group (IG) in hold-over capacity until 31 July 2016 or until my replacement is already appointed.” (Camcer Ordoñez Imam)
